Although I was in the midst of a successful career as a writer and editor at the time, I went back to school to become a psychotherapist in my mid-30s. I did so in part because I had been a client in therapy myself for many years and had found this approach to learning about my life and my important relationships unusually valuable. In addition, I felt powerfully drawn to the creative art of assisting other people explore the depths of their own psyches, both individually and in their relationships with others.
This site is specifically designed for
you to learn about me as a psychotherapist and a sex therapist so
that you can make a better informed decision about consulting me in a
professional capacity. While conducting my private practice since
1987 I have continued to teach, consult, lecture, do trainings, and
write. I have chosen to keep this site focused on my role as a
therapist, but should you wish to learn of them, some details of
these other aspects of my career are available at my Resume in the
menu to the left.
